You Deserve to be Happy!
If you give up who you are and what you desire long enough, you simply exist- and that’s not living.
So, look in the mirror and remember.
Stare into your own eyes and ask-
Who am I and what do I really want?
You may not like the little wrinkles that weren’t there before- or the bags that decided to check in under your eyes…
But, that doesn’t matter. What matters is this: Do you recognize who you see and do you like her?
Be gentle with yourself, because we all get lost sometimes. None of us are perfect, and it’s so easy to lose our way- forgetting who we are.
The good news is that it’s never too late to reach for the moon; capture a star; go for your dreams; fill your life with what your heart tells you it needs to make you complete.
We are all beautiful, and we all have a special destiny that is ours and ours alone. We were born with it and it never leaves us.
When we deny our destiny, we end up looking in the mirror one day, staring at a woman we don’t recognize anymore, and wondering where we went wrong?
You didn’t go wrong, you just went left when you should have gone right- zigged when you should have zagged. You probably did it to make someone else happy, too.
That’s our nature. We tend to put our lives on hold to make somebody else’s life better…and then one day we wake up and realize that nobody’s life is better.
Being true to yourself creates a happy self. The kind of self you want to be, to share, to give and to love. When you’re happy, you’re a different person. You’re the person you’re supposed to be.
Look hard, look carefully, look with patience, understanding, and courage. You’ll find her underneath the woman in the mirror, and when you finally see her, grab her tightly and give her a great big sloppy hug and kiss.
Embrace your spirit and make a promise that you’ll never ignore it again. Tell your spirit that you are going to start living for you.
Open the window and toss out the notion that living for yourself means you’re a selfish person. You’re not! You’ve just been so busy doing for everyone else that it’s the only thing that feels familiar to you.
Just because you live for yourself doesn’t mean you’re bad or greedy or self-centered. It means that you’re turning back into the happy person you were before you forgot who you were.
When that happens, your beautiful smile returns, replacing the scowl and getting rid of those silly frown lines.
Did you know it takes more muscles to frown than it does to smile?
And…when you live for yourself, there’s a happier you to share with others. Instead of being bitter about giving up who you are for the sake of everyone else, you’ll discover that you actually love making people happy…because you’re happy again.
Happy people give what they know, live what they know, and share what they know…happiness.
