Feng Shui for Your Office

Feng Shui (pronounced 'fung shway') is commonly defined for the Western world as the Chinese art of placement, usually of home furniture, and is based on energy flows throughout rooms and buildings.
But, Feng Shui is used in offices as well-- in fact, in the Far East, before large office buildings are sited and built, a Feng Shui practitioner is consulted to advise on location and orientation.
If this kind of advice interests you, you might want to consult a book or two to get some advice on picking a place for your office and/or arranging the furniture. For instance:
1. Placing a desk so that your back is to the entrance to your office is undesirable.
2. The "moneymaking" direction is Northeast, so if you want your business to have the best chance to be profitable, locate your office in this wealth area of the house.
3. If your house or office doesn't allow you to follow this advice, remember that part of Feng Shui practice is to use moveable items that can redirect energy- mirrors, candles, prisms- to redirect energy flow from negative to positive.
Even if you don't follow the practice to the letter, Feng Shui is a great way to gain some direction in setting up your home office. If a couple mirrors and the direction of your desk might help your business be successful, why not?
